Robert Morris men’s soccer barely snuck into the playoffs this year, but a strong performance from goaltender Grant Glorioso helped the Colonials earn a playoff spot.

This week, Glorioso was awarded Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week after his performance against IUPUI on Wednesday.

This is the first time in Glorioso’s career that he has won Defensive Player of the Week.

It comes after Glorioso made five saves and shut out IUPUI to allow the Colonials to win the game and make the playoffs for the first time since 2017.

This season, Glorioso shouldered the load in games played this season, starting and appearing in eight, finishing with a 1.33 goals-against average and a .807 save percentage.

His save percentage this season is the highest in the league, trailed closely by Detroit Mercy’s Jonathan Kliewer, who sits at .797.

Robert Morris has drawn Milwaukee as their first opponent for the Horizon League tournament and will face them on the road this Sunday.
