There is another award midfielder Kaoru Hayashi can add to her mantle.
The United Soccer Coaches released their All-Region teams today for the women’s conferences, which included Hayashi on the NCAA Women’s Division I All-North Second Team.
The graduate was excellent in her final season. She was integral in leading the Colonials to a historical season. Hayashi also was a key part in their landmark win against Wright State in the first round of Horizon League postseason play. Dominating the midfield and contributing on the scoresheet, Hayashi scored once and assisted twice for Robert Morris in the team’s first playoff win.
To end the season, Hayashi scored four goals and assisted a team high eight times. She had 16 points on the season with a postseason win as well. Being a captain and a workhorse in the midfield, the Colonials will have to look to fill the large gap Hayashi leaves behind, on and off the pitch.
She is joined by two fellow Horizon League players, both from IUPUI. Midfielder Samantha Slimak is paired with Hayashi on the second team, and forward Emma Antoine is selected on the third.
