Fresh off a dominant win against Cornell last Thursday night, the Colonials have continued winning, earning their first Horizon League award of the season thanks to Antallah Sandlin-El. The freshman’s career high performance helped boost the Colonials past the Big Red, earning him the Horizon League Freshman of the Week.
This was Sandlin-El’s second appearance this season, having been out since the season opener against West Virginia at the beginning of the month. But the freshman looked like he missed no time, though, scoring 14 points and garnering 7 rebounds for RMU.
The Nebraska native previously scored 5 points and picked up 4 rebounds in the loss to WVU, but only saw 11 minutes compared to the 19 against Cornell.
His role will look to grow even further when the Colonials take on Canisius on Wednesday, November 27. The Thanksgiving eve matchup is scheduled for a 4 P.M. tip-off.
