Robert Morris guard Kam Woods was announced as the Horizon League Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
It is the senior’s first conference weekly honor and the second different Colonial to win that honor this season, as Alvaro Folguerias has won Conference Player of the Week three times.
Woods averaged 18.5 points, nine rebounds, and 10 assists in two games this past week, all while shooting 50% in the two home victories over Green Bay and Milwaukee. He posted two double-doubles with 22 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists in the win over Green Bay on Friday and 15 points, a career-high 11 assists and eight rebounds in the win over Milwaukee Sunday.
Woods ranks second in the conference with 5.2 assists per game and tenth in the conference in scoring with 14.4 points per game. He leads the Colonials in both categories.
The Bessemer, Ala. native has led the Colonials to the team’s first place ranking in the Horizon League, a program first with one game to play in the regular season. The team has already clinched a home Horizon League Quarterfinal game.
Woods and the Colonials will travel to IU Indy in the regular season finale Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
