The Horizon League named sophomore RMU women’s soccer, Malia Kearns, Offensive Player of the Week Monday afternoon.
It has been a big last couple of games for the forward. Kearns scored twice in the Colonials’ 5-1 win against Green Bay before scoring all four goals in their 4-2 win against Wright State on Sunday.
Kearns also broke a program record for most goals in a game and is now tied for 11th for most points in the country with 17.
This honor is the fourth awarded to the Colonials, with fellow forwards Renae Mohrbacher, Lidia Nduka, and goalkeeper Brenna Murray, all being named Horizon League Players of the Week earlier this season.
Kearns hopes to add to her seven goals and three assists when the Colonials host Detroit Mercy on Saturday, Sept. 30 at noon.
