The Horizon League has released its annual men’s basketball preseason poll Tuesday afternoon.
Robert Morris was tabbed ninth out of 11 teams in the conference only ahead of newly-renamed IU Indy and Detroit Mercy. Milwaukee and Purdue Fort Wayne tied for the top spot.
Head coach Andy Toole is entering his 15th season at the position with a revamped roster and staff. Notable returners include guard Justice Williams, and forwards Chris Ford, Alvaro Folgueiras and Antallah Sandlin-El, who redshirted his true freshman season.
However, there are many new faces on the Colonial roster, including NC State transfer Kam Woods, Gannon transfer Josh Omojafo and Mineral Area College transfer Amarion Dickerson.
Toole has harped on improving on defense, especially in shot blocking. Dickerson led all JUCO players with 2.5 blocks per game at Mineral Area last season.
The Colonials will kick off their season with Mo Madness on Oct. 23 and will face Villanova in a charity exhibition on the road on Oct. 27.
The regular season will kick off Nov. 4 at West Virginia.
