RMU 10 (2-9, NEC 1-3), Mount St. Mary’s 7 (4-7, NEC 1-2). Wednesday afternoon at Joe Walton Stadium on the Campus of Robert Morris University, the Colonials picked up their second win of the season and first win in NEC play. Two players receiving hat tricks, freshman Adrian Torok-Orban and junior Luke Laszkiewicz, powered the Colonials offensively. Mount St. Mary’s got out a fast start as they took a 3-0 advantage early. After a short-lived delay due to a storm, the Colonials got the gears rolling and took a 5-3 lead with them into the locker room at halftime not allowing a single goal in the second quarter. The Mount battled from behind and eventually tied the game at six during the third period. However, the Colonials were able to pull ahead and not look back as they received help on the defensive side as starting goaltender Chase Rose made a nice play on RMU’s opponent preventing them from scoring a goal when it looked like the Mount was going to cash in when they gained some momentum late in regulation. Rose earned his second win in an RMU uniform making eight saves on the day.
