Defending conference champion Oakland were ranked first with 75 points.
Robert Morris finished last season with a 5-6-5 record with a 3-4-2 record in-conference in Jonathan Potter’s first year as head coach. The Colonials missed out on the second consecutive Horizon League Tournament appearance based on a tiebreaker.
21 players last year will return for 2024, including captain Gabe Norris.
Norris was second on the team in with nine points, with four goals and one assist in 16 games started and was named captain for his senior campaign.
“As a local player, to be chosen by such a diverse group of guys from all over the world to lead this team is something I’m very grateful for and take a lot of pride in,” Norris said. “This team is my family, so I will always have their backs just as they have mine.”
Defenders Connor Hain and William Dodzi Afawubo were also named team captains for 2024. Last season, both players played a combined one game due to injury.
“It’s such an honor to be chosen as a captain by such a great group of men,” Hain stated. “I’m very grateful for the opportunity, and I’m excited to see what the team can accomplish this season.”
Afawubo has two assists in 28 games as a Colonial.
The Colonials play their season opener against Bucknell tomorrow, Aug 22, at 4 p.m. at the North Athletic Complex.
