ORLANDO, Fla.– On Thursday, it was announced on Twitter that Robert Morris safety Miles Hayes has been selected to participate in the 76th annual Hula Bowl in Orlando, Florida.

Established in 1946 and first played on January 5, 1947, the Hula Bowl was composed of two teams: a team of mainland college players versus a local Hawaiian Islands team, primarily made up of graduates of Leilehua High School in Wahiawa, Hawaii.

This year, along with international players from Japan, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom, the game will include Polynesian players with historical ties to the Hawaiian Islands.

Additionally, the game will include NCAA college football players from all divisions. Also, both prospect teams will be coached by former NFL coaches Brian Billick and Mike Smith.

Before arriving at Robert Morris, Hayes spent time at the College of William and Mary, playing four seasons with the Tribe (2016-2019).

In those four seasons, Hayes accumulated 32 solo tackles, 29 assisted tackles, 61 total tackles, six passes defended, three interceptions, and a forced fumble in 27 games played.

In his time with Robert Morris, Hayes has recorded 28 solo tackles, 17 assisted tackles, 45 total tackles, and a pass defended in just nine games with the Colonials last season as a redshirt senior.

Hayes was the only player selected from the Big South conference. Moreover, other prominent players in Saturday’s big game include Florida State’s quarterback McKenzie Milton, UNLV’s running back Charles Williams and Colorado State defensive end Scott Patchan.

The game is scheduled for January 15, 2022. The Bounce House at UCF will host the 2022 Hula Bowl Classic, starting at noon. The game will also be televised on CBS Sports Network.

Hayes will play for Team Smith in Saturday’s contest; he will be wearing #4.
