Jaromir Jagr had an illustrious NHL career that lasted for twenty-eight years where he was with nine different teams over his incredible career. Jagr was able to adjust to the times of the game, making him one of the best to ever play hockey.
His hockey IQ was through the charts. He knew how to keep his body right to make sure he could stick with the younger players as he went through his NHL career. It was longevity in the league that earned him an honor the Penguins will soon bestow upon him.
In a pregame ceremony this season, the Penguins will retire the number 68 for Jagr after the 11 years of service that he gave to the Penguins. In his 11-year career with the Pens, Jagr put up an impressive 439 goals and 640 assists.
Jagr will join the likes of Michel Briere (21) and Mario Lemieux (66), being the third number retired in the club’s history. As a part of the ceremony, fans who go to this event will receive a replica Jagr jersey. The ceremony will take place on February 18 against the Los Angeles Kings.
