Preview: Women’s soccer hopes to build on momentum against Howard
September 6, 2019
Washington, D.C.– The 1-2-1 Colonials look to bounce off of a huge 3-1 win against Canisius (1-2) as they roll into a matchup against the Bison of Howard University (1-1). Howard is coming off of a 2-0 loss against Longwood (1-2). Will the Colonials be able to pull off a win? Let’s look at the tale of the tape.
Looking at the Colonials
Robert Morris is coming off of a huge comeback victory against Canisius. The Colonials was led by freshman midfielder Sheridan Reid. She scored two of the three goals for Robert Morris in the victory. The other goal scorer for the Colonials was senior midfielder Nicolette Casarcia. She scored her first career goal as a Colonial and looks to do more damage against Howard.
Looking at the Bison
The Bison of Howard University are looking to bounce back against the Colonials after they came up short against Longwood 2-0. They are 1-1 on the year and are looking to get back in the win column in this upcoming match. They are led by Arianna Morgan, who is their only goal scorer on the year. The Bison did have a game cancelled this year as well.
Players to watch
Sheridan Reid, Midfielder, Robert Morris
Sheridan is leading the charge for the Colonials this year with three goals on the season. She will look to continue this trend on Friday.
Sydney Buckner, Goalkeeper, Robert Morris
Buckner is coming off an impressive performance as she had to go in last match after the starting keeper went down. She saved five of the six shots she faced. She will look to keep her hot streak going.
Arianna Morgan, Forward, Howard
Arianna has the only goal for Howard this season, and she looks to continue to be a threat against Robbert Morris.
Prediction
I think that Robert Morris has the momentum on their side, and I look to see them winning this match by a score of 2-0. I think that Robert Morris has the edge in all of the categories, and that’s why they should get the win in this one.
