RMU lacrosse defeats Jacksonville 13-9
After suffering its second loss in the Northeast Conference last Saturday, the RMU men’s lacrosse team took to home turf in search of its third win of the season.
And the Colonials did just that, defeating the Jacksonville Dolphins, 13-9.
Between the first two quarters, RMU tallied a total of eight goals, with sophomores Luke Laskiewicz and James Rahe both netting three tallies. Taylor Graves and Jacob Ruest were both able to find the net for a goal apiece.
While the Colonials put up eight, Jacksonville was held at less than that, only scoring three goals in 30 minutes of play between the first two quarters. Those goals came from Tom Moore, Rob Moore, and David Goldman getting on the board for the Dolphins, giving RMU an 8-3 lead after the second frame.
During the second half of play, Jacksonville would make a decent shot at a comeback, getting the game within one goal with less than 10 minutes remaining.
RMU was able to score another three goals, leading to a total of 13 on the afternoon, and an additional five in the half.
Those last five goals would come from Kealey, Ruest, Graves, Rahe ,and Laszkiewicz.
With a win today, the Colonials and goalie Brian Bohn are 3-4 on the year and will look to break the .500 mark Tuesday against Mount St. Mary’s.
