The Robert Morris Colonials land their first transfer of the off season. After seeing five players leave, they add Markeese Hastings, a talented forward from Western Michigan University.

Hastings, a redshirt junior, will have two years of eligibility left. The forward averaged 8.7 points per game over the two years he played at WMU.

Hastings is also a solid rebounder, which is a big need with Kahliel Spear graduating. Rebounding was a number one priority for this team and Hastings can fill some of that void as he averaged nine rebounds a game in two seasons with the Broncos.

Joining the Colonials, Hastings’ role will vary depending on the situation, however, he could make an immediate impact on this Colonials roster as he provides physicality, rebounding and he can create space when needed.

Hastings also has a high basketball IQ when it comes to smart shot selection. In his career at Western Michigan, Hastings shot the ball at a 49 percent clip from the field.

All around, this is a solid pick up for Andy Toole and his staff as Hastings will provide solid depth for this team that is not there right now.
