As first reported by Omari Sankofa II of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Robert Morris men’s basketball team has received a commitment from point guard Dante Treacy.

Per Sankofa’s Twitter, “The men’s basketball team has added point guard Dante Treacy, a 6-0 freshman guard from Central Florida Christian Academy in Orlando. Treacy graduated as CFCA’s all-time leader in points and assists last year.”

The news comes the same day that RMU released the non-conference portion of their 2018-19 season schedule.

According to Sankofa, Treacy was originally committed to play at Army West Point, but Treacy announced on his Twitter page on August 9th that he had changed his commitment to Robert Morris.

In 3 of his 4 seasons at Central Florida Christian, Treacy averaged just over 16 points per game, totaling over 1,300 points over his freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons according to MaxPreps.com

Robert Morris opens their 2018-19 campaign on November 6th when they travel to Los Angeles to face power 5 member USC of the Pac-12 in the 2018 Hall of Fame Classic.
