Men’s lacrosse in the Northeast Conference is gearing up for its return as Robert Morris has joined the conference after a three-year stint in the Atlantic Sun (ASUN) conference.
The conference released its annual Coaches Preseason Poll featuring the Colonials at the top spot
The Colonials received three first place votes, while former ASUN opponent Cleveland State and LIU each had two.
Robert Morris had 10 year run from 2010-2020 which saw them have back to back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2018 and 2019. In the A-SUN, the Colonials made it back to the tournament in 2022.
Last season, the Colonials fell in the first round of the ASUN Tournament to Jacksonville.
They’ll once again turn to David Burr to continue his fantastic offensive output after leading the team in goals last season with 34 and coming second in points with 46.
Sophomore goaltender Nate Fechter who started 15 games between the pipes last season, will also be integral after he was named to the ASUN All-Freshman team last season.
Coach Craig McDonald’s team will open up the season in Richmond Va. against the Richmond Spiders on Sat. Feb. 8.
