The Robert Morris women’s basketball team has officially had its first player, senior guard Simone Morris, enter the transfer portal as a graduate senior.
The Carson, California native played for the Colonials for four seasons. During her tenure with the squad, Morris averaged 7.3 points and 3.0 rebounds per game.
She formally announced her departure on her Instagram Tuesday.
“I want to thank RMU for the endless support over the past four years,” she wrote. “The coaches, athletic department, my teammates and the entire RMU community have played an incredible role in making my time here special…Thank you, RMU, for everything–You will always hold a special place in my heart.”
Morris only played four games in the 2024-25 campaign which resulted in her maintaining an extra year of eligibility. She averaged 3.3 points this past season in her abbreviated campaign. Over her four years, she started in 76 games and played in 92 games.
With nine players leaving due to graduation and the portal, head coach Chandler McCabe has work to do to reconstruct this team that shocked many last season.
