Game One:

Umass 2 (5-9), RMU 0 (4-16): The Colonials started their second day of the Parents’ Weekend Tournament against UMASS and it wasn’t the start to the day that RMU was anticipating. UMASS shutout the Colonials and held them to only four team hits. UMASS scored the what turned out to be wining run in the first inning and took an early 1-0 lead. Junior Jordan Gurganus led RMU in hits with three. Freshman pitcher Laura Coulter moved to 0-4 on the season as she gave up both UMASS runs.

Game  Two:

RMU 4 (5-16), Minnesota 1 (13-6): The Colonials regrouped in their second game of the day Friday as they handed nationally ranked Minnesota their sixth loss of the season. The game was scoreless until RMU scored two runs in the third inning when senior Kristen Gabelt hit a RBI triple and then later scored on a wild pitch. RMU tacked on two more runs in the fifth and sixth innings to increase their lead to 4-0. The Gophers scored a run in the bottom of the sixth inning in an attempt to start a comeback but Robert Morris held them off to secure the victory. Freshman pitcher Kaitlin Ellzy, now 5-6, held Minnesota to only one hit. For the second straight game, Jordan Gurganus finished with three hits.
