With Colonials in the midst of their first season back after a two year absence, the Colonials have found some solid players to play for them this season.
One player in particular has caught the eyes of voters as Chad Veltri has been put on Goaltender of the Year Watch by the Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA).
Veltri, who came into the program this season after spending time at Niagara, has had an immediate impact on the ice in a Colonial uniform.
The graduate transfer has a record of 6-13-1 on the season has an impressive save percentage of .917 and a goals against average of 3.23.
Veltri leads the country with 814 saves.
Veltri also has one shutout on the season, a game when they went to Bowling Green and won 3-0. Veltri has been a much needed backbone of the Colonials and this is a big announcement for the graduate net minder.
The Colonials will continue conference play on the road as they will play at American International College in a weekend series, starting on Friday January 26 at 1 p.m.
