MOON TOWNSHIP — As the end of the 2018-19 school year approaches, the spring sports teams are starting to make a push for NEC tournament. Here is this week’s round-up to update you on what has happened in Robert Morris sports.

4/20/19:

Men’s Lacrosse: Robert Morris – 20; Bryant – 16

RMU men’s lacrosse (6-7, 3-2 NEC) continues to rebound from a difficult first half of their season after they picked up their fifth straight win against the Bryant University Bulldogs (3-10, 1-5 NEC) on Saturday, winning 20-16.

Brad McCulley stepped up for Robert Morris towards the end of the game by scoring three goals for RMU in the fourth quarter. This came after he scored a goal in both the second and third quarters. Through the whole game, Robert Morris picked up a strong seven goals in the first quarter, five in the second quarter, three in the third quarter and five in the fourth quarter to come out on top over the Bulldogs 20-16.

Robert Morris concludes their regular season schedule on Saturday, April 27 at 1 p.m. at Joe Walton Stadium when they host Hobart University (10-3, 4-1 NEC) in what could be a game that clinches a spot in NEC tournament.

Women’s Lacrosse: Robert Morris – 15; LIU Brooklyn – 8

Coming down to the final stretch of the 2019 regular season, Robert Morris women’s lacrosse (10-4, 3-2 NEC) continues to make a push for the NEC tournament after they defeated the LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds (6-9, 3-2 NEC) 15-8 on Saturday for a third consecutive win and to conclude their non-conference schedule.

Mackenzie Gandy continues to guide the Robert Morris squad in the right direction and make a claim for NEC women’s lacrosse and team MVP after she scored five goals for the Colonials. Gandy scored three goals in the first half and two in the second half. The team’s efforts from Mackenzie Gandy led them to a 15-8 win over the Blackbirds.

RMU returns home to Joe Walton Stadium on Friday, April 26 at 3 p.m. to host the Bryant University Bulldogs (7-7, 3-2 NEC).
