The team will begin its campaign with an exhibition at Akron on Aug. 13 and start the regular season against VMI on the 18th, starting a stretch of five straight matches at home.
The Colonials will play familiar NEC rivals in St Francis (PA) on the 21st of the month and Mount St. Mary’s on the 25th and will conclude the homestand against UMass on the 28th.
The team will travel to Washington D.C. to take on Howard on Sept. 1, then the Hampton Pirates on Sept. 4. Delaware State will come to the North Athletic Complex on Sept. 8, followed by UMBC three days later.
The Colonials will begin Horizon League play at home against Green Bay on Sept. 15, concluding the three-game homestand.
Next, the team will face the toughest challenge yet. On Sept. 18, they will face last year’s Horizon League champion, Milwaukee Panthers, on the road. The Panthers had a perfect 11-0 record in 2021 and an 18-1-0 record leading to their fourth straight NCAA tournament.
They will face the Mastodons of Purdue Fort Wayne four days later in the second half of the two-game road trip on the 22nd and make a quick pit stop back home against Detroit Mercy on Sept. 25 before going on the road again.
The Colonials will face the Northern Kentucky Norse to begin the month of October before they play Oakland a whole week later.
The Colonials will alternate between home and away for the season’s final four games, beginning with Wright State at home on Oct. 13. Then they will travel to IUPUI on the 16th, host Cleveland State on the 22nd, and conclude the regular season at Youngstown State on the 26th.
The Colonials finished the 2021 season with a 6-10-3 record in head coach Chris Shaw’s second year at the helm.
