Head coach Chris Shaw is entering his fourth season for the Colonials and led the team to a program-best 5-0-3 start to the 2022 campaign. The Colonials tailed the year to a 2-7-1 record, concluding on a five-game losing streak.
Senior Haleigh Finale led the team in scoring for the Colonials with 12 points (five goals, two assists) and expects to lead this young Colonial team.
With upperclassmen like Finale expecting to be leaders, many underclassmen are expected to have that same kind of role. Eighteen of the 31 players on the roster are either freshmen or sophomores.
Sophomore Malia Kearns returns after receiving the conference’s All-Freshman Team with two goals and three assists last year.
Other second-years like Elisa Corvalan and Paloma Swankler were at the top of the list in points. Corvalan was second with seven (three goals, one assist) and Swankler had six (two goals, two assists).
With a mix of upperclassmen and underclassmen leadership, the Colonials will be an exciting team fall.
The team has their season opener tomorrow at the North Athletic Complex against VMI.
