Best Valentine’s movies according to men

Eddie Sheehy and Sean Koepfinger

When it comes to Valentine’s Day there are few activities more popular and more acceptable than watching a good movie. Naturally you’re girlfriend is going to want to watch something sappy and romantic, but we say enough with that. So here’s a list, in no particular order, of the five best movies to watch on Valentine’s Day for men.

 Warm Bodies (2013)

Warm Bodies is loosely based on Romeo and Juliet and features a Zombie, R, who falls in love with a human, Julie. While this romance is the epitome of forbidden love, R’s love for Julie begins bringing him back from the dead.  The movie is funny, cute, and full of enough zombie gore to satisfy any horror fan.

 The Princess Bride (1987)

This 80’s classic is one of the best Romance movies, but don’t worry, it’s not one of those “kissing movies.”  The Princess Bride is full of funny one-liners, action-filled sword fights, and plenty of comedy.  This is one of those timeless adventure comedies that is fun for everyone.

 Romeo + Juliet (1996)

Romeo + Juliet features all of the original dialog from William Shakespeare’s play, but don’t let that scare thee; the entire movie takes place in modern times and features enough guns, helicopters, gang fights and violence to satisfy any man. Old English has never been more watchable.

 Gone Girl (2014)

Need a movie to make you feel better about being single on Valentine’s Day? Here you go. This exciting bloodbath puts a new spin on the “who done it” genre with an enticing story and fantastic acting. The fact that it’s perfect for anyone feeling bad about spending this holiday alone is a bonus.

 The Wedding Singer (1998)

This may not be Adam Sandler’s best work, but it is definitely his most romantic. “Grow Old With You” is a classic, and the story is perfect if you’ve got a great girl who would much rather spend a movie laughing than crying.
