Miller released his new album “Swimming” on Aug. 3. The Pittsburgh native was scheduled for a nationwide tour later this year with a stop at the Petersen Events Center scheduled in October.
I dont know what to say Mac Miller took me on my second tour ever. But beyond helping me launch my career he was one of the sweetest guys I ever knew. Great man. I loved him for real. Im completely broken. God bless him.

The Pittsburgh rapper struggled with substance abuse since early in his musical career. Miller opened up to media about his substance abuse problems following the release of his 2011 album “Blue Slide Park.” The rapper said that the abuse started after reading poor reviews of his chart-topping album.
“I was not happy and I was on lean very heavy,” Miller added. “I was so f***** up all the time it was bad. My friends couldn’t even look at me the same. I was lost.”
Miller’s death comes only a few months after he and pop singer Ariana Grande ended their relationship. Miller was charged with DUI in May. The rapper wrecked his Mercedez-Benz G Class into a utility pole in Los Angles and fled the scene. Miller was charged with two counts of DUI after he was double the legal limit to drive.

Mac Miller was Pittsburgh. My last encounter w/ him was when I was on the Pirates and he came to a game in LA. He sat right next to our dugout and cheered throughout the entire game. Literally standing and screaming every time I ran in from defense. You will be missed bro. RIP
