The Alvaro Folgueiras-Horizon League Player of the Year argument continues to get stronger. The sophomore from Spain has won his consecutive conference Player of the Week award and third overall this season.
Alvaro Folgueiras was named co-player of the week with Youngstown State’s Nico Galette.
In RMU’s two wins against Cleveland State and Purdue Fort Wayne, Folgueiras averaged 20.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting 73.7 percent from the floor and 57.1 percent from behind the arc.
The Colonials have won their last four games and are currently sitting just a half game outside of first place in the conference.
The team will face Green Bay at home on Friday night. The Phoenix currently sit last in the Horizon League after securing their first conference win on Sunday, snapping a 21-game losing streak.
