A small plane crashed into a Brooklyn Park home in Minnesota on March 29, 2025, killing all on board and causing a fire.
Officials are still investigating the cause of the crash.
The SOCATA TBM7, a high-performance, single-engine turboprop propeller plane, crashed into the home at around 12:20 pm, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The plane took off from Des Moines International Airport in Iowa, and was en-route to Anoka County-Blaine Airport in Minneapolis.
The possible capacity for the plane includes a pilot, one flight deck passenger, and five additional passengers. No official victim names have been released, but U.S. Bank Vice Chair Terry Dolan is believed to have been on board.
Social media videos showed the flames from the crash, with multiple angles showing large plumes of smoke rising from the neighborhood. Homes on either side of the crash did not appear to be affected by the fire.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz commented on the plane crash in an X post shortly after the crash. “My team is in touch with local officials on the scene in Brooklyn Park and we are monitoring the situation closely.”
The National Transportation Safety Board will continue to lead the investigation into the crash with the help of the FAA.
