Police have arrested a suspect in a mass shooting in an Ohio warehouse, killing one and injuring five others late Tuesday, Feb 4. The shooting that occurred at KDC/One, a cosmetics manufacturer in New Albany, Ohio, is being described as a “targeted attack.”
Shooting suspect Bruce Reginald Foster III was arrested in a Columbus home, according to a statement from the city of Albany. Foster is described as an employee of the facility, working several hours prior to opening fire and fleeing. He was reportedly given a ride to work on the day of the shooting, with pictures of the vehicle too unclear to track.
The motive is still unclear, and there were no prior reported confrontations or disputes involving the suspect.
There were approximately 150 employees at the warehouse at the time of the shooting, a majority fleeing to a neighboring building as a rendezvous point. Employees were then interviewed by law enforcement following the securing of the scene.
The New Albany police chief reported on the shooting, sharing his sorrow for the situation. “This is a tragedy that, to be honest with you, I never thought we’d see in our community,” he shared with news reporters on the scene.
