Winter Storm Izzy hits the campus of Robert Morris

Winter Storm Izzy moved across Allegheny County Monday, dropping between 4.5 and 9.3 inches of snow in certain areas.

Izzy also prompted Robert Morris to move classes to Remote learning on Tuesday, Jan. 18.

The National Weather Service of Pittsburgh announced a total of 9.1 inches of snow fell at their offices in Moon, Pa.

At Robert Morris, the facilities staff worked around the clock to keep pace with the continuous snowfall and accumulation on the campus roads and walkways.

While campus staff made their way around the university, students took to the hills to sled ride using whatever objects they could get their hands on.

As the Winter Storm Warnings expired at 7:00 p.m., RMU facilities workers continue to clean the roadways and sidewalks with crew vehicles and salt.
